Sahara, an odyssey in the desert
DVD National Geographic

Last prayers before penetrating into the desert
In the next days I am going to comment on some documentaries of National Geographic, which I have bought to myself in DVD for little money in a VIPS.
Sahara, an odyssey in the desert narrates to us the history of Adam, a child tuareg that initiates for the first time in his life the adventure of crossing the desert in a camels trailer. Adam's family lives in Timia (Níger) Se they dedicate to the agriculture, inappropriate activity for the noble people tuareg, but in these times it is his way of surviving.
The trip will cover 2.500 km, will last six months and his target is to buy salt in the city of Bilma to sell it on the markets of the south. The salt is, together with the water, the good most appreciated in the desert areas. The most veteran drug dealers, which have already spent the penuries of the desert, know what waits for them and refuse to be part of the covey, even when the blue men offer them a tobacco pinch.

Adam in the dangerous trip
The trailer composed by fifteen men and hundred fifty drug dealers, is started from Timia up to Bilma, being guided by the sun and the stars and doing stages, between well and well, of five days, which is what the camels bear without drinking.
In the rocks that outcrop in the sand of the Sahara they can turn engravings of 7.000 years of antiquity, done in an epoch in which the area was a prairie rich in vegetation.
On having come to Bilma, the inevitable ritual of the negotiation takes place in the buy of the salt. Once acquired this one, the tuareg load his camels and enter an unequal competition with the truck drivers who devote themselves to the same business. Finally they sell his goods in the south and Adam learns the language of that country, for when his father should be aged he takes charge of the commercial operations.

I haggle on the market of the salt
To the return, so much if the trip has been successful as if not, the tuareg stop to pray in the ruins of what was a mosque of the desert, of which today they stay scarcely a stone heap. To the return the men will meet Timia again his wives and Adam will have occasion to report his adventures to the smallest.
