Tears of Eros

Venus, of Amaury-Duvel
From next October 20, the Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza will exhibit Tears of Eros, exhibition on the eroticism and his multiple facets.
“The intimate relation between sexual drive and instinct of-Eros death and Thanatos - in the visual arts it is the topic of this exhibition, which takes given the title of a book of Georges Bataille: Larmes d'Éros and it incorporates also some of his ideas on the eroticism: the need for the beauty, the temptation as prohibition and trasgresión, or the assimilation of the erotic thing to the religious sacrifice.”
The exhibition consists of paintings, sculptures, photos and videos and, according to his commissioner, in her they have capacity “all the looks and all the sexual orientations”.

San Sebastian, José Ribera
This way, it includes archetypes like that of the fatal woman, erotic fetishes, icons gays … Also there is voyeurismo, sadomasochism and up to a dark side: vampirismo and cannibalism (I enjoy already thinking about the quantity of visits that I am going to receive from google after what I have just written).
One of the curiosities of this exhibition is that in the shop of the museum there will be able to be acquired condoms, news that several means have gathered with big joy and ingenious holders of those of whom the grant holders are so made fond, as “Put it, put it … with art” (The World) or bold feet of photo, like: "Baroness Thyssen will sell condoms” (Voice Free).
